Focusing on the themes of “prayer,” “memorial,” and “inheritance,” this work draws attention to the realities and emotions faced by those who have lived in harmony with the sea. It addresses not only the “beautiful landscapes” but also “flood disasters” and the “desires and conflicts of people” that have accompanied the development of civilization and culture. By learning about the pride the people of Yokosuka have taken in building their “life with the sea,” we offer prayers, hope for the future of our lives, and peace through dance.

A live performance by Keiji Haino and Shuta Hasunuma.
They will perform in the unique acoustic environment of the cave (Cave of Love) on Sarushima, utilizing the entire space. On November 23, 2024, the two will produce sound within the ever-changing forms of nature on Sarushima, creating an attempt at dialogue with the island itself.
